Summary: Memorandum that in the archbishop's palace in York, where Queen Isabella was lodged, before Archbishop Melton, Bishop Hotham, chancellor, Bishop Burghersh, treasurer, and Scrope, Langeton and Sexdecim Vallibus asked whether Melton would cause his place called 'the old bailey' to be defended against the Scots, as they defend the city, but Melton said that the bailey is within the city, and part of it, and thus it was the city's responsibility. He only arranged its defence on one occasion, during time of great peril, on the condition that it was no precedent, as shown in a document. The officials agreed with the document, but said that place was not part of the city, and the fortifications were the archbishop's to defend. Melton agreed to garrison it on this occasion, while the queen and her children were present, on condition that the city assist should the Scots attack, and that this is not taken as precedent. This was agreed.

Summary: Prohibition to Neville from attempting anything contrary to the king's recovery of his presentation to the archdeaconry of Cornwall. The king has learnt that, by virtue of a rescript sent to Archbishop Thoresby and his official, the abbot of St Mary's, York, the prior of St Andrew's, York, the precentor and chancellor of York Minster, Ingelby, Helwell and their commissary, on a process sued by Neville in foreign parts, the archbishop and others, while a plea was pending on the king's right, summoned Neuton to appear in the church of York and answer concerning the subverting of the king's right and the judgment of the king's court, and when he didn't appear, condemned him to pay Neville £200. Mandate to the archbishop and others to revoke all things attempted against the right and possession of Neuton.
