Summary: Mandate to Cave and Bevercote to deliver the temporalities of the archbishopric, with the exception of advowsons of churches and religious houses and collations belonging to the temporalities, to Melton, whom the pope has preferred to be archbishop, even though the king has not yet received the bull or Melton's fealty. Same to Walewayn, Lucy, Dryeby, Wodeham and Derby. Writ de intendendo to the tenants. Grant to Melton of all the king's corn in the granges of the archbishopric and sown in the lands, as a gift. Summary: Mandate to Walewayn (and Sapy) for the restitution of the advowsons of churches and religious houses to Melton, as he has done fealty to the king. On his preferment as archbishop by the Pope, the king restored the temporalities of the bishopric to Melton, but reserved the advowsons until he had done fealty. Memo that Melton had not yet presented the bulls.

Summary: Cotes recounts how his presentation to Fishlake by the king had been challenged in the court of Rome by Vaurelli, who had been provided by the pope. Despite Cotes appearing before the council at the Northampton parliament and obtaining a prohibition, Vaurelli secured a writ and proceeded against him in court Christian, and Cotes was excommunicated. He requests a writ to the executors of a papal bull concerning the pope's presentation of Vaurelli to revoke the sentence in court Christian. Order that the rolls be checked and the patent brought before the council. Numerous entries in CPR 1327-30.

Note: The petition refers to the Northampton parliament of April 1328, and is attached to a copy of the licence granted to Vaurelli from 25 August 1328. It must postdate the process begun by Vaurelli mentioned in the petition, but must be earlier than Vaurelli's success over Fishlake in October 1329 (CPR 1327-30, p. 453). Summary: Writ of aid to the sheriffs and other officials within the Cinque Ports and other liberties to assist Monyng and Monyng in taking anyone prosecuting appeals against the judgment in the Bench where the king recovered the right to collate to the prebend of the altar of St Andrew in Beverley against Cardilaco, and his collation of Kilsby. They are to bring them, and any bulls, before the king and council. Same regarding the prebend of Wetwang, recovered against Durfort and collated to Kilsby.
