| Summary: | Royal writ ordering the archbishop to ensure that Adam de Middelton [Middleton], his clerk, appears before the justices assigned at Westminster for hearing pleas concerning Walter de Langeton [Langton], bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, treasurer of Edward I, on Monday, the morrow of the quindene of Trinity, to answer William, son of Alan de Knapton alongside the bishop, Henry de Lichef' [Lichfield], Richard de Barkeston [Barkston] and John de Stalyngbourne on a plea of trespass and conspiracy. The sheriff informed the justices on Monday the morrow of the quindene of Easter that Middleton was a clerk and had no lay fee by which he could be attached. Witnessed by Roger le Brabanzon [Brabazon]. Response noting that this was done. |
