| Summary: | Deputation of Brother Robert de Burton, canon, as coadjutor of Haltemprice (Hautemprise) priory, in which, as per the return of an inquisition made there by the archbishop's commissioners, Brother Robert de Hikelyng [Hickling], prior, has been held suspect of the dilapidation of most of the goods of the house and has been defamed on many occasions for his careless rule there, and had been summoned before the archbishop, where he nominated and provided Brother Robert to be coadjutor. The archbishop forbids the prior from enacting anything without the counsel of Brother Robert, or from alienating anything, until Michaelmas next. |
