Summary: Order to Longevillers, Hercy and Beverley to enquire whether, during the previous vacancy in the archbishopric of York, the then vicar of Laneham was granted 60s yearly from the manor of Laneham. James, the present vicar, claimed that he and his predecessors received this 60s, for the tithes of the mills of Laneham, Askham, Sutton cum Lound and Scrooby, from the archbishop, or the keeper during a vacancy, and although an enquiry by the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer found evidence of this payment in vacancies from the time of Edward I, they found no evidence from the previous vacancy.
