Summary: Acknowledgement that the king has received 1300 marks in the name of Pope John XXII from Archbishop Melton, namely 100 marks by the hands of John, bishop of Winchester, the former chancellor, and 1200 marks from Warle, late keeper of the wardrobe, in part payment of the sexennial tenth imposed by Pope Clement, collected in the diocese of York by the abbot and convent of St Mary's, York. Promise to repay within five years. [Vacated, as surrendered and cancelled and other letters made on 18 April 13 Edward II.] Memorandum that the abbot surrendered into the Chancery at York the letters patent he had for this 1300 marks, and the letters obligatory for the 100 marks and other letters obligatory for the 1200 marks, under the seal of Sandale as dean-elect of St Paul's, London, Mauley, Melton as provost of Beverley, Warley, Hothum and Merkingfeld.

He is now about to be outlawed, and requests that this be stopped. Response that, if this is true, his outlawry should be stayed while he is in prison.
