| Summary: | Chancery copy of a notarial instrument, reciting the text of an appeal to Rome by John Emlay, executor of Simon Gouk of York, regarding a dispute over the terms of Gouk's will and property in Skeldergate in York. Endorsed with a memorandum that on 23 February 1385 appeared in person to swear that he would prosecute the appeal within one year, and thus no writ of capias would be issued against Emlay by the Chancery on any certification received from the archbishop on this matter. |
