| Summary: | Order to Wodehous not to prejudice the king's right of collation to the office of treasurer of York, without consulting the king. Edward I conferred the treasurership on Bedewynde, during a vacancy in the archbishopric, and afterwards Bedewynde exchanged that office with Mare for the church of North Ferriby, with the archbishop's consent. Mare still holds the treasurership, but the king is informed that the office has been conferred upon Cardinal Mortemart, by papal authority, and the archdeacon has begun the process of induction. Similar inhibitions to various others (named). |
