| Summary: | Cotes recounts how his presentation to Fishlake by the king had been challenged in the court of Rome by Vaurelli, who had been provided by the pope. Despite Cotes appearing before the council at the Northampton parliament and obtaining a prohibition, Vaurelli secured a writ and proceeded against him in court Christian, and Cotes was excommunicated. He requests a writ to the executors of a papal bull concerning the pope's presentation of Vaurelli to revoke the sentence in court Christian. Order that the rolls be checked and the patent brought before the council. Numerous entries in CPR 1327-30. |
