The king's writ dated at Gloucester, 22 December 1327 ordering the appointment of reassessors is recited (see also The National Archives: E 179/363/46 for a copy). The re-assessment became known as the 'Nova Taxatio' and was used as the basis for levying all clerical tenths in York Province after 1327 (E 179 database, grant notes). |
