| Summary: | The prior and convent of St Oswald, Gloucester complain that Botiller and Torel purchased a writ of trespass against Bingham and Kidderminster, and everything proceeded well until Botiller and Torel purchased further writs of oyer and terminer before Berkeley, whose robes Botiller wore. Despite a writ, Berkeley made a wrongful judgment and the petitioners' goods have been taken. Also, despite orders to the sheriff of Gloucestershire not to execute Berkeley's judgment, Berkeley has ordered the escheator, who is his man, to levy the remaining £100. They also request remedy as Berkeley has not delivered the record of his process, so that they cannot have any remedy. Endorsement that this touches the rights of the archbishop of York. |
