| Summary: | Petition from Bishop Beaumont, complaining that Emeldon, keeper of contrariants' lands in the bishopric of Durham, has seized the goods of Eure, who died at Bishop Auckland, into the king's hands, even though the bishop has the right of sequestration. He asks that Emeldon remove his hand. Endorsement that the bishop be ordered to enquire into Eure's death, which found that another inquisition, held at the suit of Vernon, found that Eure was killed at Bishop Auckland, while in the king's peace, and thus Emeldon is to remove his hand. |
