Summary: Commission to Roger de Mar, rector of Whixley (Quixeleye), and Richard [de Wetherby], rector of Kirk Deighton (Dighton'), to examine priests, clerks and laymen, named in a schedule stated to be annexed, who had at any time served members of the order of the Knights Templar in the houses [preceptories] or manors of Ribston (Ribbestan), Wetherby and Temple Newsam (Neusum) in the archdeaconry of York.
Note: A marginal note in a 17th century hand reads: 'Templarii' (Templars). The editors of The Register of William Greenfield Lord Archbishop of York 1306-1315 Part IV. Surtees Society 152, have identified the rector of Kirk Deighton as Richard de Wetherby.
