Summary: Writ of certiorari asking the dean of York to give details of all people admitted and installed to the prebend of Knaresborough since 1330. Detailed response (damaged), noting that Lutterell was collated by Pope John XXII after the death of Ludlow at L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, and instituted by proctor on 26 April 1334. Also notes the admission of Neville on 30 October 1352, in response to a royal writ (recited) of 4 Sept. 1352, the dispute with Galardi, and the admission of Dalton by his proctor on 28 Aug 136[...], on the death of Neville. On 11 July 1371, Brandon was admitted by proctor after the death of Dalton.

Summary: Writ summoning into Chancery all process in the case in Common Pleas between the king and Archbishop Thoresby, where the king sought to be allowed to present to the prebend of Knaresborough and Bickhill in York Minster. Archbishop Melton had presented his clerk, Ludlow, but after Ludlow's death it remained vacant until the death of Archbishop Melton, when the temporalities came into the king's hands. Jury at nisi prius found for the king, and the archbishop was ordered to admit the king's presentation.
