| Summary: | Writ ordering enquiry into the numbers of parish churches, chapels and prebends in Cumberland for the parish subsidy granted in 1371. The results were to be returned by two MPs to a council in Winchester at the octave of Trinity. Response states that Whitlawe was a prisoner of the Scots, and Osberne was to replace him. A list of 96 parishes is attached, and the return also gives details of various chapels, etc. |
