Summary:	Commission to Ros, Nevill, Scrope and Baumburgh to examine all documentation relating to a dispute between Melton , who claims various liberties in the river and port of Hull as pertaining to his see, and the mayor, bailiffs and commonalty of Hull, who claim Melton has usurped liberties belonging to the Crown. They are to draw up an agreement, and present any doubtful issues to the king at the next Parliament.

5 . TNA - CCR 1337-9, p.612

Summary:	Order to Ros to direct Starre, his constable, to keep Fletcher safe until she satisfied the church or the king orders her release. At the request of Melton, the king ordered the sheriff of Yorkshire to arrest Fletcher, an obdurate excommunicate, and the sheriff responded that Fletcher was taken at Whorlton by Overton, his minister. Several malefactors then came to kill Overton and release Fletcher, and thus they took refuge at Helmsley, where Fletcher remains in the custody of Starre, the constable.

Summary:	Writ summoning into Chancery the process of a suit in Common Pleas between the king and Thomas, son of William Roos of Helmsley, relating to the king's right to present to the church of Thornton in Craven. Attached is a copy of the record, taken from the plea roll for Easter term 1350. Details the descent of the manor and the incumbents of the church, and that the king claimed the presentation after the death of the holder, as a tenant in chief. Roos challenged this, but the king recovered the presentation, and the archbishop was ordered to admit the new incumbent.
