| Summary: | Mandate to the archdeacon of Nottingham, on complaint from Anker de Freccheuill' [Frecheville], son of Ralph de Freccheuill, to warn those of his enemies (names unknown) accused of having stolen, detained and concealed a certain writing from the manor of Bunny (Boneye) in Nottinghamshire, and those aiding them, by which writing Ralph had granted him an annual rent of £40 from the manors of Bunny [Nottinghamshire] and Criche [Crich] in the dioceses of York and Coventry and Lichfield, to restore the writing within fifteen days of monition or satisfy him in any just manner on pain of excommunication; he is also to inquire into the names of the perpetrators, and if he can establish them he is to cite them peremptorily to appear before the official of York or his commissioner in York Minster to receive justice (further details given). |
