Summary: Agreement between Robert de Bolton of Easthorpe (Yaresthorp) and his wife Hawise, since Hawise no longer dares to remain in her husband's household on account of his excessive cruelty, and has asked the archbishop to assign her a suitable portion of their joint goods for her food and clothing. Following mediation through their friends, it was agreed in the archbishop's main chamber at Cawood that Hawise would live separately from her husband for the next three years, and that Robert would pay her 12 marks per year (payment details and conditions given). Witnessed by Master John de Waltham, officer [of the court of York], John de Irford, archbishop's chancellor, and Nicholas de Burton, registrar.
