Summary: Order to Thomas [Hatfield], bishop of Durham, to summon the clergy of the diocese of Durham to attend convocation in York Minster on 29 January 1347, reciting a royal writ of 6 November 1346, ordering the archbishop for a convocation of the clergy in order to agree a tax grant in aid of the salvation and defence of the realm, and expeditions against the French and Scots; with a memorandum that similar letters were sent to the bishop of Carlisle (two entries).
