Summary: Oath of obedience to the archbishop (recited) of Thomas of Kirkcudbright, bishop of Galloway (Candida Casa; Whithorn), including his promise to visit York Minster (limina beati Petri) every year; with a notarial subscription by Richard de Clifton, clerk of York diocese, notary public, and his elaborate notarial mark; with commission to the bishop to carry out certain duties in the archdeaconry of Richmond and in the liberty of Hexham, and a memorandum noting renewal of the commission on 15 July 1308 at Appleton Wiske (three entries).
